Traci Helton, DVM/Owner
‘I became a veterinarian because I had an interest in the medical profession and I liked animals. At a young age, I was crazy about horses and I let that passion steer me down my career path.'
Dr. Helton is from Central New York state and has lived in Tennessee for over twenty five years. Dr. Helton received her B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell University. She graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville. Dr. Helton is certified in Animal Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), and trained in small animal / equine acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Florida.
In 2003, Dr. Helton started Mobile Veterinary Services – a house call practice that allowed her to provide veterinary care to those that may not have been able to seek care in a clinic setting. In October 2013 her dreams of owning her own physical clinic became a reality and Midtown Veterinary Services & Hospital opened.
In her downtime, Dr. Helton is an avid runner and has completed five half marathons. Dr. Helton lives with her partner, a dog called Ned Kelly & a cat named The Beast.
