Boarding
In addition to medical, dental, and surgical care, Midtown Veterinary Services and Hospital offers safe and secure boarding facilities with veterinary supervision and individualized attention from our staff of animal lovers. We want your pets to be healthy, happy, and comfortable when they board with us, so we treat them as if they were our own. If you live in Winchester, Belvidere, Monteagle, Sherwood, Huntland, or another nearby community, and you need a home away from home for your four-legged friends, bring your babies to us, and we’ll take good care of them for you. When you board with us, you can have peace of mind while you’re away knowing that your pets are safe and well cared for.
At Midtown Veterinary Services and Hospital, we offer clean and secure boarding facilities that accommodate both dogs and cats. We maintain separate areas for our canine and feline friends to ensure a stress-free stay for all visitors. Large and small dogs are accommodated with spacious indoor kennels complete with bedding. During the work week, dogs are walked 5-6 times a day so they can attend to business and have outdoor time in our play area. Every feline lodger has a roomy condo with a perching area. Our feline friends receive individualized attention at least twice a day, and they are supplied with cozy beds, blankets and litter boxes. If kitties stay with us for a month or more, we allow them to get exercise in our surgery suite when it is not being used.
We provide food to all boarding guests, however pet owners are allowed to bring food from home. We have gastroenteric food for dogs and cats with upset stomach or diarrhea. We also have critical nutrition for pets that may not want to eat. However, if your pet needs a special diet for a condition related to urinary or diabetic health, for example, owners are required to bring it from home. Our staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarians will be alerted if any problems are noted.
All boarding guests must be current on rabies, distemper-parvo, and bordetella vaccines for their own protection and for the safety of other boarders and patients. We also require a new client/boarder to establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship, or VCPR for short. A VCPR exists when your veterinarian knows your pet well enough to be able to diagnose and treat any medical conditions your animal develops. Having a VCPR means that our doctors can diagnose and treat your pet if a problem arises while boarding with us.
Please call today to make a boarding reservation at Midtown Veterinary Services and Hospital. We recommend booking a spot in advance since we tend to fill up quickly during holidays and popular vacation times.
